How to Conduct Multi-Bitrate Streaming Using Livebox?

 T here are primarily two different ways to do adaptive bitrate streaming. One method is called Transcoding and the other method is using Multi bitrate streaming aka MBR. Transcoding is recommended in most cases since it is hassle-free and the conversion to multiple bitrates happens at the server end on the fly as you   stream . Also, it can be turned on with a click of a button for any channel. How to Conduct Transcoding Using Wirecast as an Encoder?

 Ad aptive bitrate   streaming   (Transcoding) is available only in the higher-end versions of Livebox. To conduct transcoding using Wirecast, Keep your streaming channels ready i.e., output channel and input channel. Now under  Manage Channels , go to  Transcoding .  A  Transcoding  page opens up and you can select your input channel by clicking the drop-down menu given in the “Select Channel” option. In  Output Channels , select the channel where the video has to be transcoded. Then give turn on near transcoding. Once you give the turn on, new options for transcoding shows up, where you can set the  Preset . And then click “Save”. Note:   Livebox will generate both Transcode Output URL and Transcode Embed Code. After clicking save, give  Service Restart  to get your changes applied. Go to Livebox and create your channel. How to Re-stream on Facebook Using the Livebox Client Portal?

T he sub-user created by the Livebox admin can access the Client Portal and  re-stream the live videos  running on the   Livebox   server channel to their desired destinations. The destination could be anywhere, like Facebook, Periscope, YouTube, Twitch, RTMP servers, and other streaming platforms. So, to start re-streaming the Livebox server channel content on Facebook, the sub-user have to log in the Client Portal with the credentials provided by the admin. Enter your username and password and then give Login. You can click the ‘Add Destination’ button located on the right side or the thunder button on the left side to select your destination. A dialog box ‘Share on’ with several destinations shows up.  To  start   live   streaming using the Livebox Encoder software, Install the Mixer and Playout software from the Livebox streaming server. (Account Settings – Download – Studio (for PC Users) / Android (for Android Users) Generate the unique pin to access the software every time you want to live stream using the Mixer and Playout software. Note:   You can capture the source from your camera or you can use the playout to take your source for encoding.  So, after setting up the camera or adding the streaming source using the playout, open the Encoder window. Note:  You have to first set up your streaming capturing device (camera or  playout settings ) and then move on to the encoder settings window. How to Create a Sub-user on the Livebox Streaming Server?

  Go to  System  from the navigation menu. Under system select  Users & Roles . In users & roles, go to ‘Add Role’ and click the ‘Create Role Now’ button. A dialog box ‘Add role’ gets opened. In ‘Add Role’, enter a role name for your user. Then on the  Livebox Access , select the ‘Admin’ option to give admin control to your sub-user. After selecting the admin option, a few more options appear, where you can Select Livebox services for the  Livebox Access  role. Then click on the ‘Save’ button. The role of the Livebox access is created. Now go to ‘Add User’ and create a user for the Livebox access role. Enter Username and password for your user. Then select the role you have created by clicking the drop-down menu. Then you have to set the  Videoconference Limit  i.e., the number of conferences that the user is allowed to create while using the Livebox Videoconferencing app.   Then click the ‘Create’ button.
